VOM COMIC IN DIE HÖLLE: ASTERIX WAREN VORLÄUFER VON LUCIFER‘S FRIEND
- May 14, 2021
The only LP of the German Hard Rock band Asterix is one of the most famous albums of forgotten bands. Sounds like a contradiction, but it’s not. Asterix included musicians from Giants and German Bonds, vocals were shared by Tony Cavanaugh and John Lawton (Uriah Heep among others). The LP ASTERIX was released in 1970 shortly before the group changed its name to Lucifer's Friend and went in the direction of Heavy Metal. The Asterix team had also recorded some stuff for the Europa label under the name Electric Food. The fact that Asterix still have a big name in some circles nowadays is, of course, first of all due to the direct connection with the famous Lucifer's Friend. However, the album stands for itself with its dry Hard Rock and excellent songs.
