
NAZARETH-GITARRIST MANUEL CHARLTON MIT 80 JAHREN VERSTORBEN

Das Nazareth-Gründungsmitglied und jahrzehntelanger Gitarrist der Band, Manuel Charlton, ist bereits am 5. Juli mit 80 Jahren verstorben. Charlton prägte den Sound der schottischen Hardrocker ganz entscheidend. Auch tat er sich mit seinem Spiel auf der Slidegitarre hervor. Charlton produzierte neben einigen Nazareth-Klassikern wie HAIR OF THE DOG (1975) auch Platten anderer Bands. 1990 verließ er Nazareth und startete ab Ende der Neunziger solistisch unter Manny Charlton oder mit der Manny Charlton Band noch einmal neu durch.

Charlton shaped the sound of the Scottish Hard Rockers quite decisively. He also excelled with his playing on the slide guitar. Charlton produced records by other bands in addition to some Nazareth classics such as HAIR OF THE DOG (1975).
