- Jun 14, 2021
He was there in 1972 when Kindness changed their name to Smokey and went on to have a dizzying career: Terry Uttley. The bassist, who turns 70 on June 9, is the last remaining founding member of Smokie, which, with frontman Chris Norman, became one of the most popular Rock formations in the 1970s, especially in Germany. Uttley was one of the pillars of the band. He was involved in songwriting, contributed to the typical falsetto vocals and laid a solid rhythm base with his playing.
