John McLaughlin wird am 4. Januar 80 Jahre alt - und ist immer noch auf den Bühnen dieser Welt präsent.
John McLaughlin started his relevant career in 1963 as guitarist of the Graham Bond Organization, where he played in a band together with Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker (both later Cream with Eric Clapton). Already from the mid-sixties he played for greats such as Wilson Pickett, Ray Ellington, the Four Tops, Miles Davis, before forming his Mahvishnu Orchestra in 1971. McLaughlin recorded numerous solo albums and gained additional fame for his collaboration with Al Di Meola and Paco de Lucia in a Jazz guitar trio.
John McLaughlin turns 80 on January 4 - and is still present on the stages of this world.
