BIRTH CONTROL: HARTER STOFF IN DER FRÜHEN PHASE
Teilen
It was the most important time for Birth Control - and OPERATION, HOODOO MAN as well as LIVE their most lasting albums. Even though Birth Control often came up with progressive song structures and sometimes stretched their songs to infinity with instrumental excursions, especially live, the German band was primarily Hard Rock with a turn towards Heavy Metal. The "Bravo" texted the band in 1973 at least once "hard Heavy Rock" in the family book ... OPERATION (1971) crashes in all corners and shows in retrospect that "Gamma Ray" was not random. HOODOO MAN (1972), of course, scored mainly with this classic, but is interspersed with hefty quality. The album LIVE (1974) is a wonderful retrospective of that first half of the seventies. The debut has been left out, but there are two strong songs from the fourth LP REBIRTH (1973), "She's Got Nothing On You" and "Back From Hell". But this record went more in the direction of Jazz Rock of Chicago. Then there was "Gamma Ray" from HOODOO MAN and "The Work Is Done" from OPERATION. Birth Control were really a sensational band in their early phase!
