Langsam kommen die Stars der Achtziger ins Rentenalter: Am 18. Juni wurde Alison Moyet 60 Jahre alt. Die Frau mit der mehligen Stimme, die sich so gut für Soul eignete, machte ihre ersten Erfahrungen in Punk- und Pub-Rock-Bands. Darunter Namen wie The Vandals, The Screamin' Ab Dabs, The Vicars oder The Little Roosters. Mit dem Ex-Depeche-Mode Vince Clarke gründete sie 1982 das kurzlebige Synthie-Pop-Duo Yazoo, mit dem sie in den UK-Charts mehrere Top-ten-Hits landete, wovon „Don‘t Go“ am erfolgreichsten war. 1984 startete sie ihre Solo-Karriere. Ihr Debüt ALF erreichte im selben Jahr die Spitzenposition der Album-Charts in Großbritannien. Bis heute veröffentlicht Moyet regelmäßig Platten mit Soul, Jazz, R&B, die sich ausnahmslos gut verkaufen.
The stars of the eighties are coming into retirement age: on June 18, Alison Moyet will turn 60. The woman with the throaty voice, so well suited for Soul, made her first experiences in Punk and Pub Rock bands.
