
18 KARAT GOLD: KURZLEBIGE KRAUTROCK-SUPERGROUP

Der 18-jährige deutsch-amerikanische Gitarrist Klaus Ebert, Jörg Evers (ex- Embryo), Lothar Meid (ex-Doldinger, -Motherhood, -Passport, -Amon Düül II) und der Engländer Keith Forsey (ex-Niagara, -Motherhood, -Amon Düül II) gründeten 1973 die Gruppe 18 Karat Gold. Die Band wollte sich von den experimentellen Krautrock-Formationen abheben und gängigere Zeitgeistmusik machen. Es entstand die LP ALL-BUMM, die zum Teil überschwängliche Kritiken bekam, sich aber nicht gut verkaufte. 1974 gingen 18 Karat Gold als Backing-Band von Peter Maffay auf Bravo-Jugoslawien-Tour und lösten sich danach auf.
