Januar) an Meningitis gestorben.
It's stupefying - simply because you don't want to believe it ... And yet: guitarist, composer, creative mind, Rock star Jeff Beck has already died of meningitis on Tuesday (January 10) at the age of 78. Only in our penultimate GoodTimes issue we recalled in an article the short but intense episode in his career with the power trio Beck, Bogert & Appice (1972-1974). He gave impetus to the Yardbirds in the sixties, set new hardness standards with the Jeff Beck Group at the end of the wild decade when Rod Stewart and Ron Wood joined the band, released a variety of solo albums that were sometimes Jazz Rock, sometimes Pop, sometimes Hard Rock and much more. He always remained eager to experiment, surprising with new sounds, unusual ways of playing. In short: Jeff Beck was one of the best in his field. The Rock world will miss him sorely.
