UB40-Gründungsmitglied Brian Travers ist am Sonntag mit 62 an einem Krebsleiden gestorben. Travers spielte in der Pop- und Reggae-Band Saxofon. Die 1978 in Birmingham gegründete Formation war in Großbritannien äußerst populär und hatte dort drei Nummer-eins-Hits. In Deutschland reichte es nie für die Top-Position, UB40 waren aber mehrfach unter den besten 20 notiert: zum Beispiel “Red, Red Wine“ oder “(I Can‘t Help) Falling In Love With You“ (sogar #2).
