Der 7. Mai ist der Tag der 75-Jährigen: Bill Kreutzmann war Schlagzeuger bei den Grateful Dead – und das ununterbrochen vom Gründungsjahr bis zur Auflösung 1995. Unfassbare Zahl in seiner Vita: Er bestritt alle rund 3500 Konzerte der Band. Eigene Formationen ab 1997 Backbone und Trichromes. Später mit Ex-Deads als The Other Ones unterwegs. Mittlerweile heißt das Ganze The Dead.
Bassist Ken Koblun aus Kanada startete seine Karriere in den Sechzigern an der Seite von Neil Young. Mit ihm spielte er bei The Jades, The Squires, The Stardusters und Buffalo Springfield. Später arbeitete er mit Leuten wie Stephen Stills oder Richard Furay.
Thelma Houston ist vor allem wegen ihres Nummer-eins-Hits “Don’t Leave Me This Way“ (1976) berühmt, veröffentlichte allerdings bereits seit 1966 Soul- und R&B-Singles, 1969 folgte die Debüt-LP. Letzte Tonträger kamen 2013 heraus.
