REIBEISENSTIMME BONNIE TYLER WURDE 70
- Jun 12, 2021
Actually, when she couldn't get rid of the scratchiness in her voice after vocal cord surgery in 1977, she thought that was it for her singing career - but that's when it really took off, as the raspy sound became Bonnie Tyler's trademark.
Her first hit was "Lost In France" (1976), which made her famous in Germany (#3) and in her home country (#9). She already sounded dodgy then. A year later came her breakthrough with "It's A Heartache" (USA #4, UK #3, D #2), which she "crooned" with a new voice.
Tyler has always been a performer of other people's songs. Her first hits were Scott/Wolfe compositions, her 80's number one, "Total Eclipse Of The Heart", was written for her by Jim Steinman, later even Dieter Bohlen was among the song suppliers.
Bonnie Tyler is still touring today and proves to be an excellent entertainer every time. Congratulations.
