Schon am 15. Juli ist eine weitere Schlagzeuger-Legende 70 Jahre alt geworden: Marky Ramone - das letzte lebende Mitglied der Ramones aus den Siebzigern. Bürgerlich als Marc Bell hatte er 1971/72 bei der kultisch verehrten Band Dust gespielt, die auf ihren zwei Alben zwischen Blues Rock und Heavy Metal agierte. Nach einem kurzen Intermezzo bei den Voidoids schloss er sich 1978 den Ramones an, bei denen er mit einer Unterbrechung in den Achtziger bis zur Auflösung 1996 blieb. Danach gründete er die Intruders, spielte für Buckweeds, Misfits, Speed Kings, Tequila Baby, Teenage Head und betrieb eine Gruppe namens Blitzkrieg.
