NODDY HOLDER:AUSSERGEWÖHNLICHER SÄNGER WURDE 75
Teilen
In ihrer Heimat Großbritannien waren Slade extrem populär, hatten dort sechs Nummer-eins-Hits, was ihnen in Deutschland überhaupt nicht gelang.
Without question, Noddy Holder is one of the most extraordinary singers in the entire history of Rock. The man who gave Slade its unmistakability turned 75 on June 15. Slade belonged to the Glam Rock boom in the seventies, but in music and appearance they were always a bit rougher than their colleagues, which is why the glitter fumbles didn't really suit them. In Britain, Slade were extremely popular, having six number one hits there, something they didn't manage at all in Germany. Holder was part of the founding line-up of the N Betweens in 1966, which became Slade in 1969 via the brief name detour Ambrose Slade. Noddy Holder belonged to the band until 1992, which had not experienced a lineup change until that time. With him, bassist Jim Lea also left the quartet. Together with Lea Holder had written most of the songs.
