Keyboarder und Songwriter Richard Barbieri wird am 30. November 65 Jahre alt. Der Musiker gehörte seit 1975 der New-Wave-Band Japan an, die als einer der Wegbereiter des Synthie Pop gilt. Er blieb in der Gruppe bis zu deren Auflösung 1982 und war auch bei der Kurzzeitwiedervereinigung 1989/90 dabei. Barbieri veröffentliche zahlreiche Alben in Zusammenarbeit mit anderen Künstlern, gehörte zu den Dolphin Brothers, Indigo Falls und Rain Tree Crow. Seit 1993 ist er Mitglied der Progressive-Rock-Band Porcupine Tree, der er bis heute angehört. JUB
