MR. SPACE ROCK WIRD 80: DAVE BROCK RAUSCHTE MIT HAWKWIND DURCHS LEBEN
Teilen
Whether Hawkwind or Hawklords - Dave Brock was always there. At the age of 28 he had founded Hawkwind, now - at 80 - he is still the band leader. And although Brock's main band released about 50 albums (including Live), there was apparently still enough time to pursue a solo career from the early eighties. Brock is a kind of Mr. Space Rock. The guitarist, keyboardist and songwriter didn't invent this style, but without Hawkwind the genre would be different. Hawkwind's music was an intersection of Psychedelic, Progressive and Hard Rock. In addition, there were rapturous stage shows, some of which can still be marveled at today. Hawkwind had their biggest hit in 1972 with "Silvermachine" (UK #3, D #6). The famous single version was sung by the later Motörhead founder Lemmy Kilmister.
