JAHRZEHNTELANGER ERFOLG: PAUL ANKA WIRD 80
Teilen
If you count his single in German language "Zwei Mädchen aus Germany" (1964, #4), Paul Anka appeared in the top ten of the German singles charts a whole three times ("Lonely Boys," 1959, #8, ""Kiddy Kiddy Kiss Me," 1965, #7). So many times the Canadian singer, who turned 80 on July 30, reached the top position in the U.S. In the second half of the fifties and in the first half of the sixties it was impossible to imagine the charts without him. From 1969 until the first half of the eighties, his second extremely successful phase lasted, which was only marginally noticed in Europe. Anka made himself immortal with his debut "Diana" (1957), which is still his musical trademark today. The song has been covered countless times.
