David Coverdales beispiellose Karriere startete gleich mal in einer der größten Rockbands aller Zeiten, als er 1973 Sänger von Deep Purple wurde. Nach dem Split der britischen Heavy-Metal-Pioniere versuchte er es als Solist, entschied sich aber doch wieder für eine Bandkonstellation: 1978 erschienen Whitesnake auf der Bildfläche, um in den folgenden 15 Jahren Rockgeschichte zu schreiben. Nachdem er sich mit seinem millionenfach verkauften Album WHITESNAKE 1987 als Led-Zeppelin-Sänger empfohlen hatte, kam es 1991 zur ersten Zusammenarbeit mit Zep-Gitarrist Jimmy Page, was 1993 das Album COVERDALE-PAGE hervorbrachte. Bis heute ist Coverdale mit Whitesnake präsent. Der Sänger wird am 22. September 70 Jahre alt.
