Jerry Allison became known as the drummer for The Crickets, who accompanied Buddy Holly beginning in 1957. Allison was also featured as lead and background vocalist on later releases by the band. He also co-credited on hits such as "That'll Be The Day" and "Peggy Sue." In the sixties, he and the group essentially shifted their activities to studio work for others. In the seventies, The Crickets again released albums, toured or accompanied fellow musicians. The group existed until 2016, Jerry Allison was the only member who belonged to the Crickets without interruption. The drummer has already passed away on August 22 at the age of 82.
