Gitarrist und Gründungsmitglied der amerikanischen Rock-Band Blue Öyster Cult, Buck Dharma (Donald Roeser) wird am 12. November 75 Jahre alt. Mit Schlagzeuger Albert Bouchard gründete Roeser 1967 die Gruppe Soft White Underbelly, die 1969 zu Oaxaca und kurz darauf zur Stalk-Forrester Group wurde und sich 1971 schließlich in Blue Öyster Cult umbenannte. In den frühen Siebzigern wurden BÖC als amerikanischer Heavy-Metal-Gegenentwurf zu den britischen Black Sabbath in Stellung gebracht. Buck Dharmas Gitarrenspiel wurde für Blue Öyster Cult prägend, einige der wichtigsten Kompositionen stammen von ihm. So auch der größte kommerzielle Erfolg von Blue Öyster Cult, „Don‘t Fear The Reaper“ (USA #12, UK #16). 1982 veröffentlichte Roeser sein einziges Solo-Album FLAT OUT. Er gehört Blue Öster Cult bis heute an.
