BE BOP DELUXE: PROG ROCK AUS DEM ORBIT
Teilen
IN THE AIR AGE (1977).
If one were to describe the work of Be Bop Deluxe, then they are to Progressive Rock what Roxy Music were to Glam Rock: stylistically overlapping, exalted, ahead of their time and somehow off the rails. The band existed for six years, outwardly seeming like a New Wave combo - and sometimes sounding like one when New Wave didn't even exist. They didn't have a hit single, but sold some of their albums quite well in the UK. Eventually, Be Bop Deluxe also fell apart because the breakthrough just didn't come. For that, the group ranks among the most important on the list of influential cult formations. Their best and most important release (with #10 in the UK also the most successful) became the live album LIVE! IN THE AIR AGE (1977). On it included the otherworldly version of one of their best songs: "Sister Seagull". The song must be heard!!!!
Be Bop Deluxe “Sister Seagull“ (auch in der Studio-Version hörenswert)
Be Bop Deluxe "Sister Seagull" (also worth hearing in the studio version)
