BACKENBART UND BREITES LÄCHELN: RAY DORSET WIRD 75
Teilen
Everyone thought he was Mungo Jerry, although that was the name of the band and he called himself Ray Dorset: The singer and guitarist will be 75 years old on March 21. Although his face with the exorbitantly huge sideburns and the broad smile today somehow stands for a one-hit wonder because of "In The Summertime" (1970), Mungo Jerry were more often present in the charts. In the UK there was even another number one with "Baby Jump" (1971) - "Lady Rose" (1971) came in at #5, "Alright, Alright, Alright" (1973) at #3. In Germany it looked similar: "Summertime" #1, "Lady Rose" #7, "Baby Jump" #11. After Mungo Jerry it became quiet around Ray Dorset, although he recorded an album under the name Katmandu with Peter Green (Ex-Fleetwood Mac) and Vincent Crane (Atomic Rooster) in 1986, which unfortunately failed to be successful. We congratulate warmly.
