ALBATROS: FLIESSENDE MUSIK AUF KRAUTROCK-RARITÄT
Teilen
With GARDEN OF EDEN we are dealing with a forgotten Krautrock rarity by the Hagen band Albatros. Founded as Phoenix, they renamed themselves Albatros in 1974. With the chummy Grobschnitt as ideal, Albatros developed complex, psychedelic-influenced Prog Rock songs that were basically based on melodious melodies despite the sprawling instrumental passages. Albatros did not follow any progressive style guidelines, but let their music flow, which is why they not infrequently reminded of Grobschnitt. The somewhat pathetic singing of Hansi Köppen takes some getting used to, but is an additional characteristic that gave Albatros an unmistakable musical signature. This LP was produced in 1978 by the band itself and was equipped with the same simple cover that was used for the current re-release. The band from Hagen existed until the early eighties, before each musician went his own way. According to a meticulously researched listing of the label, the original is now traded around 1000 euros. All the more important should be this Garden of Delights edition, which was limited to 1000 pieces.
